This beautiful bottle is frosted on the top and bottom and is clear in the center so that the colorful Van Gogh paintings show through the face of the bottle. At the center on the back of the bottle are some beautiful paintings of Van Gogh, and they show through the clear portion of the front of the bottle and are magnified which makes the paintings very interesting looking. It takes 5 countries to produce a bottle of Van Gogh. The bottle is made in Germany, etched in France and silk screened in Belguim. The cork is from Portugal. (The 50ML bottle is a screw top.) The distilling and bottling is done is Holland.

Hãng Hennessy từ thưở khai trương năm 1934 đã dùng biểu tượng (Symbol) cánh tay cầm cái rìu, mà tiếng Pháp gọi là Bras Armé, tiếng Anh thì gọi là Armed Hand. Sau này khi cái biểu tượng được in bằng nhủ vàng thì được đặt tên là Bras D’or hay gọi là Cánh tay vàng (Golden Arm). Rượu Cognac thông thường được chia làm các nhóm sau: V.S (very special) – V.S.O.P (very special old pale) – X.O (Extra Old) tùy theo độ tuổi ủ rượu tối thiểu dùng để pha chế các nhóm rượu này. Việc phân loại này do Hội đồng các chuyên gia về rượu Cognac đề ra và được hầu hết các lò rượu Cognac tuân theo. Riêng lò Hennessy thì thêm vào 2 cấp độ cao hơn 3 nhóm phổ thông được phân loại là Bras D’or và Paradise. Riêng hạng Bras D’or, các rượu dùng để pha chế phải có độ tuổi tối thiểu là 6 năm.

BRAS D'OR mark has its origins in the Hennessy family coat of arms, which contains a flexed arm wielding a medieval battle-ax, referred to in French as 'bras arme' (or 'armed hand'). When this symbol is shown in gold, it is called 'BRAS D'OR' or 'golden arm.' For over half a century (since at least 1934), the term BRAS D'OR has appeared on the Cognac brandy imported and distributed in country and whole world.

Cognac brandy is usually identified by grade designations which indicate the approximate age of the brandy. These designations--V.S. (Very Special), V.S.O.P. (Very Special (or Superior) Old Pale) and X.O. (Extra Old), each signifying minimum ages--have been established by the Bureau National Interprofessionel du Cognac as grades of Cognac brandy which are commonly used by producers. It is also not unusual for major distillers to have their own names to identify the quality and blend of their Cognac brandy. HENNESSY classified their brandy into 5 groups which they add in another two; i.e. BRAS D'OR and PARADIS. Hennessy uses the term BRAS D'OR to identify brandy aged at least six years.

Truy lại gốc gác của ông tổ Richard Hennessy mới biết ông đâu phải người Pháp chính gốc mà là dân xứ Ai-xơ-len phiêu bạt giang hồ đến định cư ở vùng Cognac. Vậy viêc ông làm thêm một loại rượu whisky để tưởng nhớ về quê hương mình cũng là điều dễ hiểu. Có một đoạn viết về ông ta sưu tầm được:

The title, "Na-Geanna" (in Gaelic, "Wild Geese"), refers to several things. First, it is the name of an Irish Single Malt whiskey, produced by Hennessy. Because of EU trade restrictions, it is only available for sale in Japan, and has to be imported specifically into Europe. At the same time, "wild geese" was a term used for Irish mercenary soldiers, employed by various governments, groups, and movements as far back as the 13th century. "Long ago, a man left his homeland behind. The man drifted to a foreign land and was enamored by the spirits made there. He built his own distillery and lived the rest of his days there. The distillery hailed the man's accomplishments and made a spirit from the man's homeland. But, it was far too gorgeous...and was unlike any of the spirits from the man's homeland. Its flavor was both sweet and awfully melancholic..." The "man" in question is Richard Hennessy (1720-1800), himself a Wild Goose soldier in Dillon's Regiment, in French service. He saw combat at Dottingen and Fontenoy and in 1765, began producing the Hennessy brand cognac brandy.

Louis XIII rarest reserve cognac was created in 1874 by the House of Rémy Martin. It is described as an "intricate alchemy" blended from 1,200 eaux-de-vie, created from the chalky soils of Grande Champagne, the best growing area of the France's Cognac region. Louis XIII ages up to 100 years in specially crafted oak barrels called tierçons (above). Four generations of cellar masters perfected the unique blend of myrrh, honey, plum, honeysuckle, wood bark, leather and passion fruit that goes in to Louis XIII, making it the most complex and prestigious cognac in the world. The precious elixir comes bottled in a Baccarat crystal decanter with fleur-de-lys stopper.
